Pages and components
Every page of a site is one HTML file. The parts that repeat on every page, such as the header and footer, are components: written once and placed on each page.
Adding a page#
In the editor, press + next to Pages and give the page a name, such as "Pricing". Weblooks turns the name into the file name (pricing.html) and builds the page from the layout of the page you have open: the same stylesheets and scripts, the same header and footer, and an empty main area with one heading.
What described the old page is left out on purpose: its title, description, social preview and structured data. Give the new page its own title and description; the scans flag anything still missing.
Components#
A component is a block you define once and place wherever you need it. Its markup lives in components/<name>/<name>.html, with an optional stylesheet beside it, and a page places it with one tag:
<wl-use name="site-header"></wl-use>
Change the component and every page that uses it changes with it. Weblooks expands the tag in the editor's canvas and when the site is published, so visitors receive plain HTML. The starter templates come with a header and a footer component to build on.
When to make a component#
Make a component when the same block appears on more than one page, or when you would otherwise copy and paste it: navigation, footers, call-to-action bands, cards. Keep one-off sections in the page itself. The Components panel in the editor's Design mode lists every component and where it is used.
